Leave it to the Cub Scouts to take cardboard and duct tape and make some pretty amazing sleds.

The kids took their creative sleds and hit the slopes at Dry Hill Ski Area Saturday.

Some sleds didn't quite survive.

It was all for the annual Cub Scout snow box derby.

Organizers say while it was a race, there were no losers.

"Really, the race in itself, coming down the hill, is more fun for the boys," said organizer Lance Stetson, "and it's not so much a win-lose thing, because, in Scouting, everybody wins."

If you know of any creative children that missed out this year, don't worry: the competition will be back again next year and it's open to anyone who wants to participate.
