Is it a sign of an economic recovery?

That's quite possible with the number of companies showing up for Clarkson University's annual career fair on Thursday.

Officials said 140 firms took part.

Many of the companies have hired Clarkson grads and sent them back to the university to recruit prospective employees and interns.

"We're seeing a lot more freshmen and sophomores come this year than past years, which is very good for us. We're here looking for interns," said Andrew Waymouth, a Clarkson graduate who works at Procter & Gamble.

Thursday's career fair was the second largest at Clarkson University.

Of the 1,003 universities in Payscale's 2011-2012 College Salary Report, Clarkson graduates have the 17th highest starting salary average at $57,900.
