Carthage Man Arrested for Attempted MenacingA Carthage man is facing charges, after allegedly pointing a rifle at another man. Officials say at about 4:30 this morning, a person called 911 after hearing what they believed were shots being fired. Shortly after, the person saw Michael Mitchell, pointing a rifle at William Elliot, also of Carthage, through the window of Mitchell's North Washington Street home. State Police later arrived on scene, both Mitchell and Elliot came outside and were arrested. Mitchell has been charged with 2nd degree Attempted Menacing. He is being held at Jefferson County jail on $500 bail. |
