Carthage Police Chief Ends 20-Year CareerA 20-year career on the Carthage police force is coming to an end. Longtime Police Chief Reevie Rockhill put in his final day on the job Friday. Now he plans to move to his farm in Malone and raise beef cattle. The chief said he's grateful for the support of the community over the years, but has no plans for any future career in law enforcement. "I think I'm all done. I think I'm ready to farm," Rockhill said. "I had two dreams in life, to be a police officer and to be a farmer. I've accomplished one dream and I'm moving on to the next one." Senior patrolman Reggie Huber will become the acting police chief as of Saturday. He'll need to pass a civil service test next March to be considered permanent. |
