Carthage VFW Holds Brunch To Benefit Military KidsThe VFW in Carthage is helping military kids miles away. The VFW held a brunch to benefit the Veterans of Foreign Wars National Home for Children in Eaton Rapids, Michigan. The home provides care for children of military parents in emergencies and after tragedies. Every year the post donates to the organization, but this time around, they felt it was time to do something more. "It's one thing to cut a check," said VFW Commander Donny Brooks, "but we didn't do any work. And we want to do it. Get the organization here to get together, work together and raise our money and send it out. Just seemed like a good thing to do." The post will hold a brunch like this one every month. |
