Charges Filed Against Driver Who Ran Into Ellisburg Building

The driver of the SUV that slammed into a building in the town of Ellisburg Wednesday evening is facing a drunk driving charge.

Jefferson County sheriff's deputies say 23 year old Joshua Lancaster was charged with for driving while intoxicated, speed not reasonable and crossing a hazard marking.
  
Deputies were called after Lancaster's vehicle struck the building along State Route 193 and caught fire.

One of the passengers, 23 year old Elliott Russell, was seriously injured and airlifted to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse.

Lancaster and 21 year old Kiersten Chase - who deputies say is Lancaster's wife - were taken to Samaritan Medical Center in Watertown for treatment.

Police say additional charges could be filed.
