Charges Reportedly Dismissed In Kidnapping Case

Charges have been dismissed in a kidnapping case involving a Norwood man and his mother.

That's according to WNEP-TV, the ABC affiliate in Scranton, Pennsylvania.

The television station reports the charges were dismissed because the prosecution witness failed to show up to testify against Peter Tarbox and his mother, Annette Williams.

Tarbox said he took 10 year old Alexandria Jade Long from her Gordon, Pennsylvania home because he feared for her safety.

Tarbox said he is the child's biological father and that parental custody had never been determined.

Tarbox and his mother were apprehended by Gouverneur police August 15 after an Amber Alert was issued by Pennsylvania authorities.

The child was reunited with her mother and step-father the following day.
