At Fort Drum, 175 families no longer need to worry about what they'll be serving for dinner on Christmas.

That's thanks to Operation Homefront and Walmart.

The two have teamed up to provide full meals to military families.

The meals were given out Wednesday at the Holiday Inn Express in Watertown.

Operation Homefront is a non-profit group dedicated to providing assistance to military families.

the families recognize and appreciate the help.

"It's just great to know that are people that, you know, extend their hand - especially at the holidays, because everybody can use a little help," said Jessica Bennett, a soldier's wife.

"It's just a small way for us at Operation Homefront and Walmart to thank them for the sacrifices that they make for our country," said Daniel Hooker, Operation Homefront.

Included in the meal kits are vegetables, yams, mashed potatoes and even vegetable oil and cookware.

There's also a voucher for a free turkey to be picked up at the Wal-Mart in the town of LeRay.
