Clayton Man Charged With Raping Teen

A 52 year old Clayton man faces a rape charge for allegedly having sex with a teenager who texted him by accident.

State police charged Donald Sheley of 308 Hugunin Street with third-degree rape and endangering the welfare of a child.

According to police a 16 year old girl told them she sent a text message to the wrong number in November.

That wrong number allegedly belonged to Sheley.

The teenager told police that she and Sheley began texting each other and they eventually met.

According to police, the girl said they began having sex sometime in November or December of 2011.

Sheley was arraigned and ordered held in the Jefferson County Jail in lieu of $2,500 bail.
