Clayton Woman Sentenced For Embezzling Over $50K From PO
A 30 year old Clayton woman who pleaded guilty to embezzling over $50,000 from the Post Office to feed her drug habit was sentenced to nine months in prison in federal court Friday.
Andrea Lynch admitted to embezzling 231 money orders total over $51,000 while working at the Theresa, Fishers Landing and LaFargeville post office.
She was also sentenced to three years of supervised released and ordered to pay the money back.
Lynch admitted to using the money to support her heroin addiction.
The investigation began in August 2010 after authorities reviewed records from the Theresa Post Office and discovered several money orders were processed after the date they were cashed.
