Coast Guard officials say they rescued five people in two separate incidents near Alexandria Bay in the past 24 hours, as of Saturday afternoon.

The Coast Guard says it's not releasing the names of the people.

Around 2:30 Saturday afternoon, a Coast Guard boat crew came across four people clinging to a capsized personal watercraft in the St. Lawrence River near Alex Bay. There were no injuries reported.

Friday, the Coast Guard says a swimmer who was too tired to get back to shore signaled distress to a Coast Guard boat. The boat crew pulled the Canadian swimmer out of the water and returned him to the Canadian shoreline.
