Colton Woman Creates Couture Doll Clothing

Mary Gwyneth Holland has been sewing since she was playing with Barbie dolls.

"My mother taught me to use a sewing machine and I made Barbie clothes and that's how I learned to sew," said Mary.

Mary is an artist, but instead of a paintbrush, it's a sewing machine.

Her couture designs were taking up too much space in her home in Colton.

"It's just impractical, both timewise and expense and just storing the clothes to do them in full size," said Mary.

Mary's couture doll clothing has such delicate stitching, you need a magnifying glass to see it.

Mary even makes custom shoes out of real leather.

"It is painstaking," she said.

Mary sells her designs and creations, big and small, on her web site.

She'll be touring with her designer doll clothes to craft shows this summer.
