Comins To Be Named To Replace Retiring Watertown Police Chief Goss

When Watertown Police Chief Joe Goss retires Friday, the second-highest-ranking member of the department will take the helm.

Capt. Gary Comins will assume Goss' responsibilities, running the department as interim chief until a permanent appointment is made.

Comins has served on the Watertown police force since 1985 and was made captain in 2006.

Interim City Manager John Krol is expected to officially appoint Comins to his new role at next week's city council meeting.
