Copenhagen Craft Fair for a Good Cause

Call it 'Crafting for a Good Cause'.

It was a craft fair at the Copenhagen Fire Hall Saturday, hosted by the Ladies Auxiliary.

All proceeds collected at the event went to helping the Copenhagen food pantry.

The food bank is running on emergency levels, and that's why the Ladies Auxiliary decided to donate to the cause.

"The Auxiliary always tries to lend a helping hand. We always do a quarterly donation to the pantry, but this year we want to do something a little extra," said Heidi Petrie, Copenhagen Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary member.

Food pantry volunteer Janette St. Louis said the group is grateful for any help it can get, because the food pantry is almost empty.

"And we've been running on emergency food, and that's running out," St. Louis said.

The Copenhagen food pantry is open on the third Wednesday of the month and donations can be made at St. Mary's Church in the village.
