Corrections Officers Strike Tentative Deal With StateFor the first time in nine years, the state has struck a tentative deal with the union representing corrections officers. Under the tentative agreement reached Monday, there will be no wage increases until 2014. The new contract with New York State Correctional Officers and Police Benevolent Association (NYSCOBA) calls for 2 percent wage increases in 2014 and 2015. It also includes bonuses for workers, but health insurance premium costs are going up by 6 percent. See the news release for more information. |
