Corriveau Stepping Down As City Manager Next Tuesday

Watertown City Manager Mary Corriveau is leaving the job next Tuesday, according to Mayor Jeff Graham.

Her final city council meeting will be the night before, when she presents the proposed city budget to lawmakers.

Graham said members of the city council knew Corriveau would be leaving before her contract expired at the end of April.

He said she gave two and a half months notice.

"It makes for a logical transition," Graham said.

He said Corriveau intended to stay until she presented the proposed budget.

In January, the city council told Corriveau her contract would not be renewed.

Shortly after, she announced her retirement.

An interim city manager still must be named.

Corriveau's departure comes as Watertown Police Chief Joe Goss announced he's retiring in June.
