Cuomo Threatens Redistricting Veto

Gov. Andrew Cuomo is promising to veto the proposal from party leaders in Albany to redraw legislative districts.

That's according to the Albany Times-Union newspaper, which quotes a spokesman for the governor.

The lines were drawn by the New York Legislative Task Force on Demographic Research and Reapportionment which is jointly controlled by the Democratic majority in the Assembly and the Republican majority in the Senate.

Opponents of the plan say the lines should be drawn by an independent, non-partisan group.
