St. Lawrence County District Attorney Nicole Duve's Independent nominating petitions are being challenged by an Ogdensburg man.

Edward Martin tells 7 News he notified the Board of Elections of his intent to challenge Duve's petitions containing more than 1,700 signatures.

Martin declined to discuss the specifics of the challenge until after they are filed with the elections board by next Tuesday's deadline.

Duve needs 1,500 valid signatures to be on the Independent line in November.

A similar challenge against Independence petitions of Duve's opponent, Mary Rain of Ogdensburg, was found to be invalid after a review by county election commissioners.
