DNA evidence collected at the scene of a Barnes Corners burglary two years ago has now led to an arrest for the crime.
State Police in Lowville arrested 21-year-old Robert Austin on a felony charge of burglary.
He's accused of smashing the glass front door at the Creekside Market on May 1, 2010, and stealing cash, cigarettes, candy and a cash register from inside.
Police say he cut himself on the glass and left his DNA behind - That DNA recently produced a match on the state DNA database.
Austin is currently incarcerated at the Greene Correctional Facility in Coxsackie for unrelated burglary convictions in other counties.
