Deadline Looms To Register For November Election

If you want to vote next month but aren't registered, time is running out.

This is the last week to register and that has led to a flood of new registrations.

Officials at the Jefferson County Board of Elections expect 10,000 more voters this year because of the presidential election.

For those registering in person, your final opportunity is this coming Saturday.

"By law and especially during a presidential election year, we're required to be open Saturday for registration on the last day - so technically, the 13th is the last day you can come in in person," said Jerry Eaton, elections commissioner for Jefferson County.

If you're registering by mail, your form has to be postmarked by October 12.

You can register at your board of elections from 2 to  9 p.m. this Saturday in Jefferson and Lewis counties.

St. Lawrence County will be open from noon to 9 p.m.
