Two people were injured when a deer jumped into -- and out of -- the car they were in on a Clinton County highway.

State police say 61 year old John Perry of Chateaugay was driving on State Route 374 in the town of Ellenburg when a deer ran onto the road and jumped into the driver's side rear passenger window.

Perry and a 16 year old sitting behind him were taken to a Plattsburgh hospital, where their minor injuries were treated.

The deer died from its injuries.
