Delays Expected In Downtown Canton

Underground utility work is forcing a change in Canton's downtown traffic pattern as preparations are being made for the upcoming major highway reconstruction project.
 
Motorists can expect to face minor delays at the intersection of Route 11 and Riverside Drive for the next couple of weeks.

Temporary barriers have been put up to close one lane of Main Street and a turning lane on Riverside Drive.

Roughly one mile of Main Street, which is also part of Route 11, will be completely rebuilt over the next two years.

Work will include the realigning of intersections, new sidewalks and the installation of new water and sewer lines.

During the reconstruction period, traffic will be detoured around the work site.
