Democrat Donna Bohn announced her candidacy for the district 10 seat on the Jefferson County legislature Wednesday.

Bohn, a north country native, will run against one of two Republicans to replace veteran legislator Mike Behling. District 10 takes in Adams, Lorraine, Rodman and Worth.

"I'm not a politician by any means," Bohn said as she announced her candidacy in Adams. "I'll be working for the people and not for a party."

Bohn stressed her small business credentials.

A press release noted Bohn and her husband "have started many businesses."

"I'm hoping to share that knowledge with current business owners in our community as well as bringing new growth to the area," she said.

Bohn is a Watertown high school and Jefferson Vocational Technical Center graduate and worked as a nurse at Samaritan Medical Center.

She and her husband Jeff have lived in Adams for 18 years.

Republicans Jeremiah Maxon and Jayson Jones have announced plans to run for the seat. (Read our earlier coverage here.)
