Dexter Woman Wins Local Country Music Contest

A Dexter woman has the chance to take a trip to Nashville and win $100,000.

Annette Miller has won the local Country Showdown, part of what's billed as the nation's largest talent competition in country music.

Now she heads to Rhinebeck, New York for the state finals.

Should she win that, it would be on to regional competition.

And if she won that, she'd compete in the finals in Nashville for a grand prize of $100,000.

"I don't expect to win anything but I aspire to so I'm going to give it my all," said Miller.

This is the first time in decades that Miller has been able to compete.

Up till now, she was disqualified because she always worked for one of the radio stations that sponsor the competition.
