Divers Carve Pumpkins Under Water

Tools

If you think carving a pumpkin is difficult, try doing it under water.

St. Lawrence Aquatics organized the fist ever St. Lawrence River Underwater Pumpkin Carving Contest in Clayton on Saturday.

More than 20 divers came from all over the north country and Canada to try their hand at carving a pumpkin underwater.

Divers, including 7 News employee Angela Golden struggled to sink their gourds beneath the river's surface and then carve a design.

The winners of the best carvings won a host of prizes.

The big winner was the Wounded Warrior Project, which is getting $900 from the event.
