For dog lovers, especially those looking to adopt, Sunday was the time to head over to the Jefferson County dog shelter. Today the shelter celebrated its fourteenth annual open house. Over one hundred people came out to see and pet the pups. So far, eleven dogs have been adopted Of the twenty-two available this morning. It's always a fun day", said Todd Cummings, supervising dog control officer. "To have people come down tour the building, see what were all about, maybe take a dog with you." Cummings says it's the year of the small dog. For the first time, the shelter had ten dogs under fifteen pounds. All of which were adopted today.
