Donations Being Collected For Sandy Victims

Here's your chance to give back for the help the north country got during the Ice Storm of 1998.

The "We Remember" campaign is at the Watertown Walmart Thursday.

Organizers are collecting donations for Nassau County, Long Island, which was hard-hit by Superstorm Sandy.

During our ice storm nearly 15 years ago, Nassau County sent 20 fire departments to the north country to help us recover.

"We Remember" organizers are hoping to deliver some payback.

"This is where a lot of people come to shop for groceries and for other things - so they can stop by here and donate what they can," said organizer Doug Anderson.

The collection point will be at the Watertown Walmart until 7 p.m. Thursday.

After that, it moves to the former Sacred Heart School in Watertown.

The collected items will be delivered to Nassau County on December 13.
