Work is underway again to dredge what's known as "the cut" between Henderson Harbor and Lake Ontario.
Jefferson County Highway crews are removing the sand and sludge that fills in the cut each year.
Senator Patty Ritchie (R. - 48th District) secured $60,000 in the state budget to pay for the work.
The cut provides easy access to the lake, but more importantly it provides a safe harbor from Lake Ontario when the weather gets rough.
