Driver Charged With Criminally Negligent Homicide
A Watertown man critically injured in a crash last September that killed his 17 year old passenger was charged Wednesday with criminally negligent homicide.
Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies say 19 year old Gaige Knapp was also charged with reckless driving and speed not reasonable and prudent.
Seventeen year old Trevor Robinson of Adams -- shown in the photo below -- died in the crash.
Deputies say Knapp was driving the car that crashed on State Route 289 in the town of Ellisburg on September 1. The car went off the road, struck an embankment and rolled over several times.
Knapp was taken by helicopter to a Syracuse hospital in critical condition.
Robinson was pronounced dead at the scene.
Knapp was released on his own recognizance pending grand jury action, deputies say.
