Dry Weather Causes Some Concern

It's sunny and warm outside, but is it getting too dry?

Since the month of May hasn't brought any rain to Watertown yet, some of the land - especially farm land - is starting to dry up.

Although we aren't experiencing abnormally dry conditions, some say the fact that it's so dry this early in the season is a cause for concern.

"Farmers like to be able to get fields in when it's not too wet, but if it's too dry, they worry about not having enough water and there's always an increased fire risk," said Jessica Rennells of the Northeast Regional Climate Center.

But rain is on the way.

Rennell said we could even get above normal amounts in the next week.
