Duo Pleads Guilty In String Of Burglaries


Two people who burglarized homes and seasonal camps in Lewis, Herkimer and Hamilton counties will be sentenced after pleading guilty.

State police arrested 31 year old Andrea Lynch of Clayton on Tuesday.

She was charged with

 -three counts of burglary 3rd degree
 -one count criminal possession of stolen property 4th degree
 -one count grand larceny 4th degree
 -two counts of petit larceny.
Lynch appeared in Hamilton County Court, where she waived grand jury indictment and pled guilty to one count of fourth-degree grand larceny and one count of third-degree burglary

Her sentencing is scheduled for November 20.

This isn't Lynch's first brush with the law.

In November 2012, she was sentenced to nine months in prison after pleading guilty to embezzling over $50,000 from the Post Office to feed her drug habit.

Lynch's accomplice in the burglaries, 28 year old Hugh Broadbent of Watertown was indicted previously in June 2013 by a Hamilton County grand jury for:
 -criminal possession of a weapon 3rd degree
 -four counts burglary 3rd degree
 -criminal possession of stolen property 5th degree
 -falsifying business records
 -grand larceny 4th degree
 -four counts criminal mischief 4th degree
 -five counts petit larceny
 -criminal possession of methamphetamine manufacturing materials 2nd
 -criminal impersonation 2nd degree
Broadbent already accepted a plea offer from the Hamilton County district attorney to serve 5 to 10 years in state prison in satisfaction of all charges in Hamilton County.

His sentencing is scheduled for October 31 in Hamilton County Court.
The charges stem from a string of burglaries in central and northern New York.

In January and February 2012, Lynch and Broadbent burglarized several homes and seasonal camps in Herkimer, Lewis and Hamilton counties.

The duo is in the custody of the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office.

Lynch and Broadbent were also arrested in February 2012 on a charge of third-degree unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine.
