EJ Noble Workers Required To Re-apply For Their Jobs
More than 200 full and part-time workers at Edward John Noble Hospital will have to apply for their jobs once the facility is dissolved and then resurrected under the new name Gouverneur Hospital sometime before year's end.
"The question on everybody's mind is - are there going to layoffs? I can't tell you that," said David Acker, Canton-Potsdam CEO.
"It just makes sense because your purchasing power, your recruiting, all of those things are just better served," said Michael Burgess, EJ Noble board chair.
"This is not in any fashion an attempt to not have a unionized workforce," said Acker.
