After a gun was recovered from the Indian River, an Evans Mills man was accused of stealing it.

State police say 18 year old Trae Wagar allegedly stole a combination .22-caliber rifle and 20-gauge shotgun from a vehicle owned by Jordan Delaney of Evans Mills sometime between October 12 and October 20.

Troopers say the firearm was recovered with the help of off-duty Watertown police officer Ken Noone.

Wagar was charged with fourth degree grand larceny. He was arraigned in LeRay town court and sent to Jefferson County jail on $20,000 bail.
