Even 'Navigators' Affected By Overwhelming Web Traffic

One thing the government shutdown hasn't affected? The online marketplace for health insurance.

After being launched on Tuesday, millions have taken to the online exchange to find out about health plans, coverage and just about anything else.

But the rush of visitors is continuing to overwhelm the system and is also causing problems for marketplace navigators.

"As navigators, we haven't been able to register yet because of the overwhelming web traffic so were are not yet able to help people to enroll on the web site, but we've been pretty busy with phone calls here," said Mandy Robinson of the North Country Prenatal/Perinatal Council.

Robinson says navigators have still been able to help customers by taking their income information to estimate what shoppers can expect to pay for their health insurance.
