Firefighters managed to stop flames from destroying a home in the town of Brownville Friday afternoon.

Volunteers were called to 16873 County Route 53.

Officials said the summer heat made things difficult for firefighters, but their quick response saved the home from being destroyed.

Most of the damage to the home was confined to the living room area, officials said.

Officials said the two people who live in the house were not home when the blaze broke out.

At least four fire departments responded to the scene.

Investigators are trying to pinpoint the cause of the blaze.
