Firefighters Suffer From Heat While Battling Blaze
Two firefighters suffered heat-related injuries while battling a blaze that destroyed a trailer home Friday morning in the town of Theresa.
The cause of the Eddy Road fire is still being investigated. Officials say the 911 caller said flames were coming from an air conditioner.
The fire was reported shortly before 10 a.m.
Two volunteer firefighters from Philadelphia were treated on-scene because of the heat.
"It's 87 degrees outside," said Theresa Fire Chief Mark Savage. "The humidity, and we're wearing this heavy gear and it's just really, really hard on the guys.
The trailer is owned by Jeff Hamilton, who lives there with his girlfrien, Ashly Hamilton, and their four children.
A dog, two cats and five kittens are missing and are believed to have died in the fire.
