Flags are flying at half-staff Friday for three New Yorkers who died in Zarghun Shahr, Afghanistan on June 8.
Killed were Lt. Col. Todd J. Clark, of Evans Mills; Major Jaimie Leonard, of Warwick; and civilian law enforcement training contractor Joseph Morabito, from Hunter.
Clark and Leonard were assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company of the 10th Mountain Division's 2nd Brigade Combat Team based at Fort Drum.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo has directed that the flags on all state buildings be lowered to half-staff in honor of and in tribute to our state's service members and those stationed in New York who are killed in action or die in a combat zone.
