Flood Watch In Effect For Jefferson, Lewis Counties

The National Weather Service has put Jefferson and Lewis counties under a flood watch for the next day.

A watch is not as serious as a warning; basically, it means that if you're in an area prone to flooding be especially alert and follow weather updates.

The reason for the flood watch? We're expecting rain, starting sometime after 2 p.m. Thursday. The Weather Service predicts one to two inches, with more in spots. Things could start with a bang: scattered thunderstorms (meaning not everyone will get them) are forecast for Thursday afternoon, before settling into steady rain Thursday night into Friday.

The flood watch is also in effect for Oswego County.
