Former Clare Supervisor Pleads Guilty To Lesser Charges In Embezzlement Case

Former Clare Town Supervisor Nicole Dimock pleaded guilty Tuesday to reduced charges in connection with the embezzlement of thousands of dollars of town funds.

Dimock entered guilty pleas in St. Lawrence County Court to misdemeanor charges of petit larceny and official misconduct.

She was originally charged with felony third degree grand larceny and first degree tampering with public records.

Dimock was accused of stealing more than $3,000 from a town account by writing herself a check.

A state audit couldn't account for an additional $21,000 in checks written while Dimock was supervisor.

Sentencing is set for March 3.
