Former Elections Commissioner Sentenced
Former Lewis County Democratic elections commissioner Elaine McLear was sentenced Wednesday for creating a "no show" job for her daughter in 2011.
She was sentenced to a one-year conditional discharge and 347 hours of community service.
McLear admitted she paid her daughter more than $300 for work she never did. McLear has repaid the money.
She had pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor counts of second-degree offering a false instrument filing.
She originally faced felony counts of offering a false instrument for filing and misdemeanor counts of petit larceny and official misconduct.
