Former Fort Drum Officer Named To State Veterans Post

 New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo appointed a former Fort Drum officer to be the new director of the state's Division of Veteran Affairs, the governor announced Monday.

 
Cuomo named retired U.S. Army Col. Eric Hesse to the post.
 
Hesse was a Command Inspector General of the 10th Mountain Division at Fort Drum.
 
He retired from the Army last week after more than 26 years of service that included deployments to Iraq, Afghanistan and Kosovo.
 
Since 2009, he served as Command Inspector General of the New York Army and Air National Guard.
