Former SUNY Canton Student Sentenced In Gang Assault Case

Another former SUNY Canton student convicted in the gang assault and stabbing of another student in 2008 has been re-sentenced to prison.

Darryl Tucker, 22, was back in St. Lawrence County Court where he was sentenced to nine years in state prison and five years post release supervision.

Tucker was one of a trio of SUNY Canton students who brutally attacked Matthew Rivera in October 2008, stabbing him eight times.

Tucker was originally sentenced to 12 years in prison in 2009 following his conviction on charges of second-degree gang assault and second-degree assault.

In January, a state court reduced the charges to attempted assault and attempted gang assault and ordered the re-sentencing.

In August, 21 year old Roody Dorfeuille was re-sentenced to 11 years in prison.
