Friday Morning: Power Restored After Pole Fire


Fire Friday morning on Route 3 near Carthage apparently triggered a power outage affecting 2,200 National Grid customers.

The fire was reported on a power pole at 37125 Route 3. National Grid responded to the fire, as did the Carthage fire department.

By 10:30 am, National Grid had fewer than ten customers still without power, after 2,200 customers were initially listed without electricity in the Town of Champion, Carthage, West Carthage, Herrings, Deferiet and Great Bend.
