It took a shootout to do it, but the Thousand Islands Privateers got past Danbury 5-4 Friday night, in a game played in Watertown.

Also in local sports Friday night: the Watertown Rams baseball team held its annual hot stove dinner, with former major league ace Dwight Gooden as the featured speaker. And the Watertown Red & Black are looking for a few good men.
