Funeral arrangements have been finalized for a prominent member of the north country agriculture community who died in a farm accident earlier this week.
83-year-old Doug Murray of Copenhagen was described by many as a leader, elder statesman, and true gentleman, who packed more public service into his life than you'd think was possible.
Among his many contributions, he was a former JCC Board president, long-time member of the Development Authority, and a founding member of the Agriculture Development Corporation.
Funeral Services for Doug Murray will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Watertown, where he was a member and a deacon.
The burial will follow at Brookside Cemetery.
Visitations will be held Sunday at the Lundy Funeral Home in Copenhagen from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
