Gas Price Patterns Will Be Normal For 2013, Experts Say

Experts are predicting gas prices will stay under the $4 per gallon mark for most of 2013.

GasBuddy, a gasoline price forecaster, released its outlook for this year and prices are expected to be at an average of around $3.60 per gallon.

Forecasters say prices won't hover at $3.60. They're expected to peak around $4 and then dip into the $3.30 cent range.

"We could see prices peak in April, then start to moderate toward the end of the summer," said GasBuddy analyst Gregg Laskoski.

"Once we get into October, the fourth quarter is when consumers should see the lowest prices of the year," he said, "and that's typically the seasonal pattern that we've been seeing year after year."

Laskoski says the relatively mild price forecast is in part due to the country's gasoline inventory, which is the highest it's been in two years.
