Getting Ready For The Storm

A winter storm warning is in effect for the north country.

For snowplow drivers - the forecast is business as usual.

"We adjust as needed and the crews are out around the clock if needed," said Mike Flick of the New York State Department of Transportation.

Plows aren't the only ones that could get a little extra work.

"Really good for business, really good for business," said Theresa Miller of Miller's Towing Service.  "We get a lot of people off the roads. Especially on the main roads, coming from Fort Drum, 283, Route 11. It happens."

Actually, Miller's Towing can get up to 80 calls during a snow storm.

"It is the calm before the storm. It is. And if it does indeed come, like we're hoping, we're hoping for it. We'll be ready," said Miller.

Of course, with these big trucks trying to clear the roads, officials advise you to be on the lookout.

"Give them some extra space. You're looking at a large, heavy, slow moving piece of equipment typically with a single operator. They're busy. Give them room to do there work," said Flick.
