Gillibrand Calls For More Funding Of Energy Efficiency Program

The bitter cold we've had lately served as a perfect backdrop for U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand's visit to the north country Friday.

The New York Democrat stopped at the Community Action Planning Council in Watertown to promote the Weatherization Assistance Program.

It's a program that helps families make homes more energy efficient.

With more than 1,000 people in the north country still on a waiting list, Senator Gillibrand is calling on Washington for more funding.

"It has a long lasting effect because it reduces energy costs for every year that boiler is in place, that those new windows are working. It can make a real difference," said Gillibrand.
