A Glen Park man was arrested after he allegedly tried to choke a deputy sheriff who was investigating a domestic dispute.

Police say 37 year old John Carr allegedly refused to step back when ordered to by Jefferson County Sheriff's Deputy Jeffrey Froelich and instead put his hand on Froelich's throat and applied pressure.

Froelich attempted to arrest Carr, but Carr struggled and was eventually subdued.

Carr was charged with resisting arrest, harassment and criminal obstruction of breathing.

He was arraigned and issued tickets to appear in Glen Park village court at a later date.
