Go Wild for the Arts!

It was a wild time for art lovers at the New York State Zoo at Thompson Park Saturday!

Along with bears and bobcats, local artists, musicians, and authors were also on display.

It is all a part of "Go Wild for the Arts" weekend, and zoo officials say it's an event to bring the community together to support North Country artists.

"So we thought it was just a natural blend to work with artists in the area to actually bring it all together," said John Wright, the zoo's executive director.

"And (it's) a good opportunity for people to learn about the arts in the north country, try some things out themselves, see an incredible zoo," added North Country Arts Council president Mike Miller.

If you're wild about art and animals, but missed out on the fun Saturday, don't worry.

The event continues Sunday at the zoo.
